Six Flags Swaps Coasters for Toons

Six Flags Swaps Coasters for Toons

Six Flags Magic Mountain has delayed its highly anticipated “first-of-its-kind” coaster to 2027, citing the attraction’s complexity and a commitment to quality. The project—reported to be a Vekoma Thrill Glider—was part of the company’s broader $1 billion investment plan and would have been the park’s first major coaster addition since 2022.

At the same time, Six Flags confirmed a significant pivot toward family-focused IP with the announcement of Looney Tunes Land, a fully reimagined children’s area opening in summer 2026 with upgraded storytelling, expanded green space, new theming, and refreshed dining.

Taken together, these moves raise questions about where Six Flags is placing its near-term bets. Coasters are increasingly expensive and time-intensive to build, and ongoing tariff uncertainty may be influencing capital timelines. The decision to prioritize Looney Tunes—rather than Peanuts—could also signal a push toward IP diversification tied to Warner Bros., especially as broader questions remain about how Magic Mountain and Knott’s Berry Farm will coexist and differentiate within the same Southern California market.

We explore whether this reflects a temporary pause on thrill-heavy investments, a reorientation toward families and reliability, or simply a pragmatic sequencing of projects while the company navigates post-merger integration and external pressures. We also touch briefly on winter and holiday programming that caught our attention, including China’s massive Ice-Snow World and Alton Towers’ Santa Sleepover in the U.K., as operators worldwide look for ways to stabilize attendance across unpredictable seasons. 00:00:08.320 --> 00:00:10.160
of Scott Swinson Creative Development.

5
00:00:10.240 --> 00:00:11.279
On green Tag, we look.

6
00:00:11.119 --> 00:00:14.039
At the top news each week and in discuss why

7
00:00:14.119 --> 00:00:17.440
it's important to industry professionals. We try and ask questions

8
00:00:17.480 --> 00:00:21.399
and spark debate on our YouTube specifically where everyone is

9
00:00:21.760 --> 00:00:24.839
continuing to comment, which we are very grateful for. And

10
00:00:25.079 --> 00:00:27.640
this week we will discuss a little bit of the

11
00:00:27.679 --> 00:00:29.039
six Flags. We always have to give you all the

12
00:00:29.039 --> 00:00:31.079
six Flags updates. We got to do the six Flags updates.

13
00:00:31.120 --> 00:00:31.440
What's going on?

14
00:00:31.440 --> 00:00:33.679
Everybody loves six Flags updates well, and if you think

15
00:00:33.679 --> 00:00:35.399
about it, when it comes to the industry, they are

16
00:00:35.439 --> 00:00:38.200
the biggest player now, the biggest well they're they're the

17
00:00:38.240 --> 00:00:41.320
ones that are in the most unique position. I mean

18
00:00:41.359 --> 00:00:45.799
they're not they've been shaken up and it's interesting to

19
00:00:45.840 --> 00:00:46.759
see how they're handling it.

20
00:00:47.320 --> 00:00:47.560
Yep.

21
00:00:47.880 --> 00:00:49.640
So we'll discuss that, and then we're going to talk

22
00:00:49.759 --> 00:00:53.600
a little bit about some fun Christmas events that we

23
00:00:53.759 --> 00:00:55.479
picked out for happening all over the world that we

24
00:00:55.479 --> 00:00:58.320
thought was cool because it is our Christmas show, which

25
00:00:58.359 --> 00:00:59.039
I forgot about.

26
00:00:59.399 --> 00:01:01.960
Yes, that's why I'm decked out in my in my

27
00:01:02.039 --> 00:01:05.359
Christmas shirt and I'm out here in this frigid little

28
00:01:05.680 --> 00:01:08.560
Christmas wonderland forest here in Tampa.

29
00:01:11.959 --> 00:01:13.200
I completely forgot this.

30
00:01:13.799 --> 00:01:16.159
I don't know it's about. Well, but that's because Philip,

31
00:01:16.200 --> 00:01:17.879
you just took your Christmas tree down last week, so

32
00:01:18.079 --> 00:01:20.680
you know it's true. It's not even up.

33
00:01:20.760 --> 00:01:23.319
Yeah, I got o. We're gonna get there.

34
00:01:23.359 --> 00:01:26.959
Okay, So let's recap some of the big theme part

35
00:01:27.040 --> 00:01:29.640
of the sorry the big six Flags news from this

36
00:01:29.680 --> 00:01:32.079
past week. I'm sure everyone's heard, but of course that

37
00:01:32.200 --> 00:01:34.840
the Magic Mountain. There's some a lot of stuff happening

38
00:01:34.879 --> 00:01:37.840
at Magic Mountain. They're not going to get the opening

39
00:01:37.920 --> 00:01:40.159
of the big new first fits Kind roller coaster in

40
00:01:40.200 --> 00:01:41.959
twenty twenty six. That's going to be pushed at twenty

41
00:01:41.959 --> 00:01:46.799
twenty seven. Instead, they're getting a refreshed kids area.

42
00:01:45.920 --> 00:01:49.680
So so, uh, this is interesting.

43
00:01:49.760 --> 00:01:53.640
So yeah, the first fits Kind roller coaster is being

44
00:01:53.680 --> 00:01:57.599
pushed to twenty twenty seven. And what they told KTLA

45
00:01:57.719 --> 00:01:59.959
is that as we continue to evaluate our construction project,

46
00:02:00.480 --> 00:02:02.799
we've realized that the nature of this attraction means that

47
00:02:02.840 --> 00:02:05.680
it will take a bit longer to complete than originally anticipated.

48
00:02:05.920 --> 00:02:08.800
To ensure the coaster meets are high standards of innovation,

49
00:02:09.000 --> 00:02:12.159
thrills and safety that you expect and deserve, we have

50
00:02:12.240 --> 00:02:14.159
revised the timeline to twenty twenty seven.

51
00:02:14.520 --> 00:02:16.360
So the coaster was part.

52
00:02:16.199 --> 00:02:18.879
Of the one billion dollar chain wide investment by six

53
00:02:18.879 --> 00:02:22.879
Flags and it's the the Coma Thrill Glide, a suspended

54
00:02:22.919 --> 00:02:27.840
motorbike coaster that's not yet seen in North America, and.

55
00:02:27.759 --> 00:02:29.879
The kids area.

56
00:02:30.080 --> 00:02:35.120
So basically this is a little This one was interesting

57
00:02:35.280 --> 00:02:38.479
just because of the context of the recent things. But

58
00:02:39.479 --> 00:02:44.400
what they're doing is they're basically revamping the Bugs Bunny

59
00:02:44.439 --> 00:02:48.159
area to a Looney Tunes land, which is going to

60
00:02:48.159 --> 00:02:51.240
debut in summer of next year, and it's going to

61
00:02:51.240 --> 00:02:55.560
feature four areas anchored by Bugs Bunny, Roadrunner, Taz, and

62
00:02:55.639 --> 00:02:59.280
Daffy Duck. And it's going to include upgraded storytelling on

63
00:02:59.319 --> 00:03:02.919
existing rye it's new theming, expanded seating, selfie spots, where

64
00:03:02.960 --> 00:03:06.439
fresh dying locations, and additional green space. It's gonna the

65
00:03:06.439 --> 00:03:09.319
construction will begin right after their current winter festival there

66
00:03:09.360 --> 00:03:11.800
and everything else like the park will be open. It's

67
00:03:11.800 --> 00:03:13.840
just that one area it's going to be doing. In

68
00:03:13.879 --> 00:03:16.080
a press release, the park said each area will have

69
00:03:16.080 --> 00:03:21.280
its own color palette, fauna, landscaping, graphics, hardscaping and railings, signage,

70
00:03:21.319 --> 00:03:25.000
and more distinct experiences in that area. And the context

71
00:03:25.039 --> 00:03:28.960
is just interesting here because last episode we've just talked

72
00:03:28.960 --> 00:03:30.919
about how the Warner Brothers is up for sale and

73
00:03:31.719 --> 00:03:33.719
will Netflix buy it and what's going to happen or whatnot.

74
00:03:33.719 --> 00:03:36.400
And of course Looney Tunes is part of the Warner

75
00:03:36.479 --> 00:03:40.800
Brothers ip that they do do lease out, so it's.

76
00:03:40.719 --> 00:03:43.240
Interesting they're choosing to continue.

77
00:03:42.680 --> 00:03:47.039
Like so it's like business as usual basically, which is

78
00:03:47.120 --> 00:03:49.240
kind of what we talked about anyway last week that

79
00:03:49.280 --> 00:03:51.919
it was going to just be business as usual. So uh,

80
00:03:52.159 --> 00:03:54.599
And in case anyone is wondering, which people have already

81
00:03:54.599 --> 00:03:58.199
commented in our last episode about this, since last week,

82
00:03:58.520 --> 00:04:03.439
the Warner Brothers shareholders have issued a statement saying that

83
00:04:03.479 --> 00:04:06.919
they recommend Netflix instead of Paramount as the purchaser because

84
00:04:07.520 --> 00:04:10.120
mostly I think because they're saying the funding might not

85
00:04:10.199 --> 00:04:13.960
be as secure as the Netflix one. So so just

86
00:04:14.000 --> 00:04:17.240
interesting that this is all kind of happening. But we

87
00:04:17.279 --> 00:04:19.160
said it would take years anyway, because it will take

88
00:04:19.199 --> 00:04:21.240
years if it happens well.

89
00:04:21.199 --> 00:04:24.240
And to me, it's it's it's interesting, but it's also

90
00:04:26.279 --> 00:04:29.879
kind of doubling down because you know, they now have

91
00:04:29.959 --> 00:04:32.920
a much if this is after this is completed, they

92
00:04:32.959 --> 00:04:36.639
will have a much stronger anchor to be able to say,

93
00:04:37.079 --> 00:04:40.920
you know, we've invested in in this, this and this upgrade.

94
00:04:40.959 --> 00:04:43.879
So now that the representation of your brand, whether Netflix

95
00:04:43.920 --> 00:04:45.720
bies it or not, which I think they will, but

96
00:04:46.680 --> 00:04:51.279
we've you know, we've been reinvesting and supporting your brand.

97
00:04:52.639 --> 00:04:55.319
So please keep working with us, and please continue to

98
00:04:55.360 --> 00:04:58.600
allow us to lease the rights, at least in this

99
00:04:59.680 --> 00:05:03.879
format at of experience. So I think that that does

100
00:05:03.920 --> 00:05:05.959
not surprise me a whole lot. I I you know,

101
00:05:06.480 --> 00:05:09.639
if if for some reason, whoever buys Warner Brothers decides

102
00:05:09.800 --> 00:05:11.720
we're gonna pull all the the Looney Tunes, all the

103
00:05:11.759 --> 00:05:14.720
bugs Bunny rights, that's gonna take years and years to

104
00:05:14.800 --> 00:05:20.279
do because there's you know, there's some pretty significant investments

105
00:05:20.720 --> 00:05:25.680
around the world using those ips, and uh, they're they're

106
00:05:25.680 --> 00:05:29.720
not gonna they're not gonna go away overnight. But what

107
00:05:29.839 --> 00:05:32.720
I think is most interesting is this is kind of

108
00:05:32.759 --> 00:05:37.480
echoing what we've been sort of suggesting in the show

109
00:05:37.519 --> 00:05:41.319
all along, and that is the standard standard operating procedure.

110
00:05:41.319 --> 00:05:45.000
Procedure for large theme parks is changing. It used to

111
00:05:45.040 --> 00:05:47.639
be that the only way you could do anything that

112
00:05:47.720 --> 00:05:49.680
would make people want to come to your park is

113
00:05:49.720 --> 00:05:53.079
to spend a huge investment on a new coaster, especially

114
00:05:53.160 --> 00:05:56.560
a six Flags park that was that's been their bread

115
00:05:56.600 --> 00:05:58.519
and butter. You know, they invest in a coaster, they

116
00:05:58.519 --> 00:06:00.120
get a bump for three years, they pay off the

117
00:06:00.160 --> 00:06:03.199
coaster for five years to seven years, and it just

118
00:06:03.399 --> 00:06:07.920
it's not making sense anymore on paper. What is making sense, however,

119
00:06:08.079 --> 00:06:13.079
is providing more and more opportunities for families to come

120
00:06:13.240 --> 00:06:17.639
and and do stuff together. That is, That is the

121
00:06:17.720 --> 00:06:20.360
new trend. That is the new trend. People who are

122
00:06:20.360 --> 00:06:23.519
seeking thrills aren't going to aren't going to theme parks

123
00:06:23.560 --> 00:06:27.360
as much. They're going to places that have real thrills.

124
00:06:27.639 --> 00:06:31.480
You know, they're going whitewater rafting, they're going they're going

125
00:06:31.480 --> 00:06:33.800
bungee jumping, they're doing you know, they're doing all that stuff.

126
00:06:35.560 --> 00:06:38.000
So I'm not going to say that roller coasters are

127
00:06:38.000 --> 00:06:40.240
going to go away. You know, everybody, whenever I say

128
00:06:40.240 --> 00:06:41.720
things on the show, people always like to make it

129
00:06:41.759 --> 00:06:43.439
very black and white. That No, Scott doesn't know what

130
00:06:43.480 --> 00:06:45.720
he's talking about, because roller coasters aren't going anywhere. I'm

131
00:06:45.759 --> 00:06:48.120
not saying roller coasters are going away. What I'm saying

132
00:06:48.240 --> 00:06:52.879
is parks are recognizing that the return on investment is

133
00:06:53.759 --> 00:06:56.560
there are other options other than big pieces of steel

134
00:06:57.120 --> 00:07:02.959
that quite often will have a more or well a

135
00:07:02.959 --> 00:07:07.600
more positive return on investment, and especially things that involve

136
00:07:07.879 --> 00:07:12.839
family and an ip. So I think that this is. Yes,

137
00:07:12.920 --> 00:07:15.079
I'm sure they didn't have the money. I mean, let's

138
00:07:15.560 --> 00:07:19.240
let's address the elephant in the room, or at least didn't,

139
00:07:19.319 --> 00:07:21.240
let me put it this way, even if they had it,

140
00:07:21.279 --> 00:07:24.639
didn't want to spend it for fear that, you know,

141
00:07:24.759 --> 00:07:27.560
other things may happen down the road, or they want

142
00:07:27.600 --> 00:07:30.920
to make sure that the stockholders don't just start abandoning

143
00:07:30.959 --> 00:07:34.680
them so that they can maintain some of their their residuals,

144
00:07:34.720 --> 00:07:39.279
their stock residuals. So there's that. But I also think that,

145
00:07:39.319 --> 00:07:42.639
like I said, the way theme parks are working, I

146
00:07:42.680 --> 00:07:48.439
love the fact that they now include includes many selfie experiences. Yep,

147
00:07:48.639 --> 00:07:50.040
that was never a space.

148
00:07:50.360 --> 00:07:52.759
Yeah green space and self experiences are like new trends.

149
00:07:52.800 --> 00:07:55.519
Yeah, yeah, very new, well not very new, but there

150
00:07:55.639 --> 00:08:01.360
they are trends that are returning, trends that are appealing

151
00:08:01.480 --> 00:08:05.920
to appealing to their guests. So to me, it's just

152
00:08:06.000 --> 00:08:07.360
kind of a I don't want to use the term

153
00:08:07.439 --> 00:08:10.000
right sizing, but I guess that's what it is. It's

154
00:08:10.399 --> 00:08:12.759
looking at at what is our what it's going to

155
00:08:12.759 --> 00:08:16.600
be our return on investment? And you know, will will

156
00:08:16.639 --> 00:08:20.560
the new updated family friendly area drive as much attendance

157
00:08:20.560 --> 00:08:23.360
as a new roller coaster in the first year? Maybe not,

158
00:08:24.120 --> 00:08:25.720
but it also won't cost as much.

159
00:08:26.439 --> 00:08:29.399
Yeah, well, I was wondering do you think I guess

160
00:08:29.399 --> 00:08:30.759
I was wondering how much do you think the cost

161
00:08:30.839 --> 00:08:33.879
is playing factor in it? And do you think I mean,

162
00:08:33.879 --> 00:08:36.559
I was thinking about this from a manufacturing standpoint, is like,

163
00:08:37.879 --> 00:08:41.279
is there maybe are they thinking that the terroriffs might

164
00:08:41.320 --> 00:08:44.600
go away? I mean, I don't know how how far

165
00:08:44.679 --> 00:08:47.080
it is in construction. I mean, I have no idea.

166
00:08:47.080 --> 00:08:50.559
I don't know if it's already if everything's already in

167
00:08:50.639 --> 00:08:52.559
this country and they're just like assembling it, and in

168
00:08:52.600 --> 00:08:56.279
which case it wouldn't matter. But maybe you're people are thinking, well,

169
00:08:56.679 --> 00:08:58.559
you know, it's a terrafs wind their way to the

170
00:08:58.600 --> 00:09:01.559
Supreme Court and as all that is happening, maybe the

171
00:09:01.639 --> 00:09:04.080
terrace will go away, and then it would I mean,

172
00:09:04.080 --> 00:09:09.480
if this if twenty percent twenty percent cheaper roller coaster

173
00:09:09.639 --> 00:09:10.279
is a.

174
00:09:10.200 --> 00:09:14.360
Lot Yeah, yeah, Well, and they may also be thinking,

175
00:09:14.559 --> 00:09:20.120
you know, let's let's let's not muddy the waters when

176
00:09:20.600 --> 00:09:26.120
you know for twenty six everything six Flags at least

177
00:09:26.200 --> 00:09:29.480
from a look how good we are is going to

178
00:09:29.559 --> 00:09:33.240
be focused in Saudi. You know that's true, So let's

179
00:09:33.279 --> 00:09:36.200
not muddy the waters. Let's let's not compete with ourselves.

180
00:09:36.440 --> 00:09:37.600
I don't know, there's there could be a lot of

181
00:09:37.600 --> 00:09:39.039
different reasons, quite honestly.

182
00:09:39.159 --> 00:09:42.240
Yeah, And I was also thinking that too, well. I

183
00:09:42.279 --> 00:09:45.360
was I'd forgot about the Saudi and goinghea that it's interesting.

184
00:09:45.399 --> 00:09:51.840
But I was also thinking, there's really nothing opening in

185
00:09:51.919 --> 00:09:54.720
twenty like there's very few like big things opening in

186
00:09:54.720 --> 00:09:58.080
twenty twenty six in America, and I'm wondering, if I

187
00:09:58.120 --> 00:10:00.240
guess I was thinking a bit, is this them trying

188
00:10:00.320 --> 00:10:03.159
to not just the cost and all that stuff, but

189
00:10:03.200 --> 00:10:06.159
also they're trying to be more competitive in twenty seven

190
00:10:06.200 --> 00:10:12.000
when you have larger, other, larger competition happening, where it's

191
00:10:12.080 --> 00:10:14.200
like they want to be a little bit more competitive,

192
00:10:14.240 --> 00:10:16.240
and like really nothing's happening in twenty six.

193
00:10:16.399 --> 00:10:20.279
So yeah, that's very possible because I mean, let's face it,

194
00:10:20.320 --> 00:10:23.919
you know, theme parks, theme park insider, people who work

195
00:10:23.919 --> 00:10:26.200
in theme parks know when other theme parks are planning

196
00:10:26.240 --> 00:10:30.639
to open things, yes, long before it's announced. So yeah,

197
00:10:30.639 --> 00:10:33.240
that's very possible. That's very possible. And you know, who knows.

198
00:10:33.240 --> 00:10:35.200
It could be a combination of all these things. It

199
00:10:35.240 --> 00:10:38.480
could be a combination of all And I would throw

200
00:10:38.559 --> 00:10:42.600
even another possibility into the hat, and that is it's

201
00:10:42.639 --> 00:10:49.759
an attempt to revitalize and slightly redirect what is the

202
00:10:49.840 --> 00:10:54.440
perceived audience for a six Flags park yep, because you know,

203
00:10:54.480 --> 00:10:58.480
we've both said Six Flags parks are and this is

204
00:10:58.519 --> 00:11:01.919
a gross overstatement, but many of the six Flags parks

205
00:11:02.080 --> 00:11:04.519
have the reputation of being blacktop and roller coasters and

206
00:11:04.519 --> 00:11:07.679
that's about it. Yeah, blacktop and thrill rides. So if

207
00:11:07.720 --> 00:11:11.000
they're going to do a deep dive in an investment

208
00:11:11.320 --> 00:11:16.120
and a strong media push for a revised, updated family area,

209
00:11:18.000 --> 00:11:22.600
that that may be another attempt to sort of reposition

210
00:11:23.240 --> 00:11:24.759
their their demographic.

211
00:11:25.159 --> 00:11:26.840
Yeah.

212
00:11:27.919 --> 00:11:28.240
Yeah.

213
00:11:28.480 --> 00:11:30.360
The only other thing I thought was interesting is that

214
00:11:30.440 --> 00:11:35.679
they they didn't choose to do this with Peanuts, right,

215
00:11:35.799 --> 00:11:37.320
And I think that's another thing.

216
00:11:37.399 --> 00:11:38.399
A lot of people were wondering.

217
00:11:38.440 --> 00:11:41.200
It's like, well, where they gonna where the Six Flags

218
00:11:41.240 --> 00:11:45.320
Park's going to build areas with the Peanuts Now that

219
00:11:45.559 --> 00:11:48.960
it's they now they can now it's it's one chain.

220
00:11:50.000 --> 00:11:54.799
And also just another side noted that Sony just purchased

221
00:11:54.840 --> 00:12:00.440
a majority of the stock in Peanuts and so it's

222
00:12:00.480 --> 00:12:03.159
like they're most most of the owners of Peanuts now.

223
00:12:03.240 --> 00:12:04.120
So it's Sony.

224
00:12:04.240 --> 00:12:07.320
So it's that's that's been happening, you know, in this

225
00:12:07.399 --> 00:12:10.960
side thing. But it yeah, so I don't know. To me,

226
00:12:11.039 --> 00:12:12.919
I I I hear a lot of people talking about that,

227
00:12:12.919 --> 00:12:18.039
and I'm like, well, like it's kind of more for diversity,

228
00:12:18.159 --> 00:12:19.960
I think, is how I would say it. It's like

229
00:12:20.000 --> 00:12:22.799
they want to you know, having multiple eyps makes you

230
00:12:22.879 --> 00:12:26.840
more diverse, and that way they I don't know, I mean.

231
00:12:27.039 --> 00:12:30.399
To me, it's competing iyps. I don't know whether if

232
00:12:30.440 --> 00:12:35.080
it were, if it were my choice, I would look

233
00:12:35.120 --> 00:12:40.360
at what what eyps are are resonating strongest with the

234
00:12:40.399 --> 00:12:45.200
audience that I want and and dive in wholeheartedly with

235
00:12:45.240 --> 00:12:48.559
those And like I said, I I think it's just

236
00:12:48.840 --> 00:12:53.120
to reinforce the anchor of the Warner Brothers characters, so

237
00:12:53.120 --> 00:12:55.679
that when negotiations come up in the future with the

238
00:12:56.559 --> 00:12:59.639
new sale. I mean, I still think that the the

239
00:12:59.639 --> 00:13:04.879
the impending sale of Warner Brothers has something to do

240
00:13:04.919 --> 00:13:09.039
with their decision. I can't. I have no insider information,

241
00:13:09.480 --> 00:13:12.879
nor have I ever dealt with that particular ip. So

242
00:13:13.440 --> 00:13:16.919
it's one of those I don't know, but I think

243
00:13:17.519 --> 00:13:19.360
to me, it kind of sounds like we're just gonna

244
00:13:19.399 --> 00:13:21.720
really dig our heels in tight. We're gonna put our

245
00:13:21.720 --> 00:13:25.519
anchors deep into the bottom of the ocean and say,

246
00:13:25.559 --> 00:13:27.480
look look at our great investment. Well, you can't take

247
00:13:27.519 --> 00:13:31.320
this away from us. Now, let's negotiate. I don't know.

248
00:13:32.039 --> 00:13:36.320
Yeah, interesting, some very quick hits too, just we didn't

249
00:13:36.600 --> 00:13:38.320
talk about this last time, But it's not that. But

250
00:13:39.200 --> 00:13:41.000
I think the last round up of six Flags news

251
00:13:41.039 --> 00:13:44.159
is that they've streamlined all of their apps and website together,

252
00:13:44.879 --> 00:13:48.120
which they did a few weeks ago, but we didn't

253
00:13:48.120 --> 00:13:49.080
mention it because we were.

254
00:13:48.919 --> 00:13:50.960
Just our next six Flags updates.

255
00:13:51.360 --> 00:13:54.799
But yeah, it's interesting because I, you know, I have

256
00:13:54.919 --> 00:13:57.559
the subscription to it, and so previously I had like

257
00:13:58.159 --> 00:14:02.320
the Notts app, and so now is all like one app,

258
00:14:02.399 --> 00:14:05.159
no matter what six Flags park you're a part of,

259
00:14:05.200 --> 00:14:07.720
and it's like one website and everything is like combined.

260
00:14:08.200 --> 00:14:11.440
So I don't know, people are freaking out about it.

261
00:14:11.519 --> 00:14:14.720
I think that that step was necessary.

262
00:14:15.039 --> 00:14:17.759
I'm let's go back. It's not the first time six

263
00:14:17.759 --> 00:14:21.360
Flags has done that either. When six Flags you know

264
00:14:21.399 --> 00:14:24.240
in there, when six Flags started purchasing up every mom

265
00:14:24.279 --> 00:14:26.960
and pop park they could find, and we'll call it

266
00:14:27.000 --> 00:14:30.200
the Geaga Lake syndrome, when they when they basically purchased

267
00:14:30.240 --> 00:14:32.399
everything they could find, they put everything under one umbrella,

268
00:14:32.480 --> 00:14:38.200
one website, and then broke it back up again. But

269
00:14:38.399 --> 00:14:41.159
in this particular case, like I said, we have to

270
00:14:41.200 --> 00:14:43.879
stop thinking about it as this is a half and

271
00:14:43.960 --> 00:14:46.360
half company. It's not it's a new company. It's not

272
00:14:46.480 --> 00:14:50.200
six Flags, it's it's not Cedar Fair. It is six

273
00:14:50.240 --> 00:14:53.639
Flags now yep. And I think that that helps with

274
00:14:53.679 --> 00:14:55.000
that narrative more absolutely.

275
00:14:55.480 --> 00:14:57.679
The new app, the unified app, it has all of

276
00:14:57.720 --> 00:15:00.080
your rewards in it and all that especially for me,

277
00:15:00.360 --> 00:15:03.679
just for me, because I write next to six Slacks

278
00:15:03.720 --> 00:15:06.919
like I'm fifteen minutes away from Magic Mountain and then

279
00:15:06.960 --> 00:15:09.679
I can drive down to Knots right, and so especially

280
00:15:09.840 --> 00:15:11.039
for people in this region.

281
00:15:11.080 --> 00:15:11.639
I think it's.

282
00:15:11.639 --> 00:15:15.360
Very different, but better because then it kind of reinforces

283
00:15:15.480 --> 00:15:16.559
that it's one thing.

284
00:15:16.840 --> 00:15:18.240
So I know this isn't in our show notes. I

285
00:15:18.279 --> 00:15:20.679
know we hadn't discussed this, But because the two prox

286
00:15:20.879 --> 00:15:24.039
parks are in such close proximity, do you see there's

287
00:15:24.159 --> 00:15:28.960
any possibility of one of them closing their doors?

288
00:15:29.919 --> 00:15:30.399
I don't know.

289
00:15:30.600 --> 00:15:33.200
I mean everybody here is asking that, like everybody in

290
00:15:33.200 --> 00:15:36.960
Sokyl is wondering that. And that's kind of what I thought.

291
00:15:37.000 --> 00:15:38.639
Why it was interesting that they were putting the Loan

292
00:15:38.720 --> 00:15:42.519
Tunes thing there because Knats has the Peanuts and they

293
00:15:42.600 --> 00:15:45.120
just redid the camp Snoopy, so they I mean, they

294
00:15:45.200 --> 00:15:50.000
just renovated that, and so now this move would kind

295
00:15:50.000 --> 00:15:52.799
of make you believe that they're gonna plan to keep

296
00:15:52.840 --> 00:15:57.639
both parks operational with different vibes, even different kids eyps,

297
00:15:57.720 --> 00:16:03.240
with new renovated areas, right, So I think that's boating

298
00:16:03.360 --> 00:16:06.200
well for all of that, it's just interesting because you're like, well,

299
00:16:06.200 --> 00:16:09.240
maybe they're thinking of pushing both more.

300
00:16:09.120 --> 00:16:11.600
Into the more family demographic, just because.

301
00:16:13.080 --> 00:16:14.879
I think, I don't know, God, I'm going to get

302
00:16:14.919 --> 00:16:16.759
in so much trouble for this with the theme park

303
00:16:16.759 --> 00:16:20.000
people here locally, but like the way I feel, like

304
00:16:20.039 --> 00:16:22.600
the way I think about the SoCal environment is you're like,

305
00:16:23.399 --> 00:16:26.360
Disney is still the best. I'm sorry, especially here because

306
00:16:26.399 --> 00:16:31.080
the Universal Hollywood is very small, and Universal Hollywood is

307
00:16:31.120 --> 00:16:33.600
where you go for the studio tour and for those

308
00:16:34.000 --> 00:16:35.720
things that you can't get other places, but they have

309
00:16:35.840 --> 00:16:38.039
all to do with Hollywood, right, It's so it's such

310
00:16:38.039 --> 00:16:40.519
a Hollywood park, okay. And then Disney is just the best,

311
00:16:40.720 --> 00:16:44.759
it's the largest, but also it's just it's the original.

312
00:16:45.039 --> 00:16:49.039
It's the thing, right, It's the thing. And then six

313
00:16:49.120 --> 00:16:52.679
Flags kind of has that vibe of being like the

314
00:16:52.720 --> 00:16:56.440
park in the suburbs that is like where tweens hang

315
00:16:56.519 --> 00:16:58.679
out until they are old enough where they have enough

316
00:16:58.720 --> 00:17:02.879
money to go to or Universal, or they move out

317
00:17:02.879 --> 00:17:04.519
of the city because like it's in the suburbs, right,

318
00:17:04.559 --> 00:17:06.839
nobody comes up here. Okay, I don't even know why

319
00:17:06.839 --> 00:17:10.759
I'm here, but like it's one of those where you

320
00:17:10.799 --> 00:17:15.559
know where like when you get old enough, you leave

321
00:17:15.599 --> 00:17:17.799
and you move into the city. So you're either going

322
00:17:17.880 --> 00:17:20.720
to move closer to Universal and then you go to Universal,

323
00:17:21.079 --> 00:17:23.480
or you move down to the w A Park area

324
00:17:23.519 --> 00:17:25.880
and you're gonna go to Knots or Disney. So this

325
00:17:26.039 --> 00:17:28.480
is like the park that you're at when you're in

326
00:17:28.680 --> 00:17:30.759
school and when you're living with your parents, Like, this

327
00:17:30.799 --> 00:17:34.119
is the park that you're at, I think not, I

328
00:17:34.160 --> 00:17:37.759
mean people do travel to it, but like not not,

329
00:17:37.920 --> 00:17:40.039
I I mean again, because then the calculus is like,

330
00:17:40.240 --> 00:17:41.240
why don't we just go to k Notts?

331
00:17:41.279 --> 00:17:41.359
Right?

332
00:17:41.359 --> 00:17:45.079
It depends on where you are in the uh, you

333
00:17:45.160 --> 00:17:48.039
know where you live, but it's only an hour apart,

334
00:17:48.079 --> 00:17:51.279
and so it's really like, you know, I think most

335
00:17:51.279 --> 00:17:55.160
people will choose nos because it has a more robust

336
00:17:55.440 --> 00:17:59.839
entertainment offering, and they're still so it is. This is

337
00:18:00.079 --> 00:18:02.960
hard because I think the only time I've ever heard

338
00:18:03.000 --> 00:18:06.880
people that live south that means live past the city,

339
00:18:07.240 --> 00:18:09.319
the only time I've ever heard those people be like,

340
00:18:09.400 --> 00:18:11.480
I'm going to go to six Flags. It's for two things.

341
00:18:12.400 --> 00:18:14.799
One is fright fast, and one is they want to

342
00:18:14.799 --> 00:18:18.279
go to a coaster mm hmm. But then the people

343
00:18:18.319 --> 00:18:20.880
that everyone that lives around it are families because it's

344
00:18:20.920 --> 00:18:24.279
the suburbs, and so you're so it's it's a weird

345
00:18:24.359 --> 00:18:26.599
dynamic because you're like, oh, this is interesting, and then

346
00:18:27.039 --> 00:18:31.759
Knots is like people love Nots because it's the cheap Disney,

347
00:18:31.799 --> 00:18:35.559
because it it's the only park I would argue, maybe

348
00:18:35.599 --> 00:18:38.960
not in their chain, but it's the they do such

349
00:18:39.000 --> 00:18:41.720
a good job with their entertainment, with what they have.

350
00:18:42.240 --> 00:18:44.519
Well, it was the outlier in the Cedar Fair parks too.

351
00:18:44.440 --> 00:18:45.440
It's always been the outlier.

352
00:18:45.720 --> 00:18:47.839
So it's it's going to be the outlier in the

353
00:18:47.920 --> 00:18:49.920
in the current six flags as well.

354
00:18:49.960 --> 00:18:52.200
Like their Mary Farm, it might be the only time

355
00:18:52.240 --> 00:18:54.599
I go. I only I only go to Knots like

356
00:18:54.640 --> 00:18:58.160
four times. And it's like Boys and Berry Festival, you know,

357
00:18:58.240 --> 00:19:01.559
Scary Farm, Married Mary and there's. You go to the

358
00:19:01.599 --> 00:19:03.720
main things just because they do such great things, but you.

359
00:19:03.799 --> 00:19:06.519
Go to the seasons festivals. You go to the seasonal festivals.

360
00:19:06.559 --> 00:19:08.640
You don't go to the core product of the park. Well,

361
00:19:08.680 --> 00:19:11.359
and the reason I'm asking is, I'm just wondering if

362
00:19:11.720 --> 00:19:16.160
this decision not to do a giant coaster is kicking

363
00:19:16.160 --> 00:19:19.279
the ball down the street a little bit, waiting to

364
00:19:19.319 --> 00:19:22.400
see do we need to have both parks or do

365
00:19:22.440 --> 00:19:26.319
they need to have both parks. That's what made me,

366
00:19:26.440 --> 00:19:28.920
That's what prompted the question, because I really, you know,

367
00:19:29.000 --> 00:19:31.039
you live there. I don't so I don't know what

368
00:19:31.079 --> 00:19:37.559
the local mentality is, but yeah, it's interesting. It's going

369
00:19:37.599 --> 00:19:39.279
to be interesting to see how this continues to play out.

370
00:19:39.319 --> 00:19:41.960
And of course we'll be reporting on it from now

371
00:19:42.039 --> 00:19:44.720
until the cows come home because it is the biggest

372
00:19:44.799 --> 00:19:47.680
mover and shaker really when it comes to the big

373
00:19:47.720 --> 00:19:50.960
theme park industries. They're out there. So we'll see, we'll

374
00:19:51.000 --> 00:19:51.759
see what happens.

375
00:19:52.079 --> 00:19:54.200
Well, yes, okay, it's Christmas.

376
00:19:54.279 --> 00:19:58.519
So oh okay.

377
00:19:59.039 --> 00:20:01.279
We want to talk about two stories.

378
00:20:01.319 --> 00:20:03.799
Nothing Christmas around me other than my backdrop and my shirt.

379
00:20:04.039 --> 00:20:05.720
I was looking for something that would be like fun

380
00:20:05.759 --> 00:20:07.799
and I could like jingle bells or anything. But everything's

381
00:20:07.960 --> 00:20:08.920
scary and Halloween.

382
00:20:09.359 --> 00:20:09.960
Oh I have this?

383
00:20:10.640 --> 00:20:13.279
Doesn't help me off this plant? Oh there you go.

384
00:20:13.880 --> 00:20:15.480
Okay, I'll put this here. So we have a little

385
00:20:15.480 --> 00:20:20.599
bit of Christmas five okay, So two stories from just

386
00:20:20.680 --> 00:20:21.480
interesting things.

387
00:20:21.480 --> 00:20:21.920
So the.

388
00:20:23.680 --> 00:20:26.559
So, okay, there's a place I've always wanted to go

389
00:20:26.799 --> 00:20:29.079
in this time of year, which is the Harbin Ice

390
00:20:29.680 --> 00:20:34.799
Snow World in China. And I think I got became

391
00:20:34.839 --> 00:20:39.720
aware of these artists because the Gaylord Resorts do the

392
00:20:39.799 --> 00:20:42.960
ice experience and you know, I'm sure our listeners have

393
00:20:43.279 --> 00:20:45.359
seen it or heard of it because they're in all

394
00:20:45.359 --> 00:20:50.160
the major Gaylord properties, and Nico there has really done

395
00:20:50.160 --> 00:20:54.200
an excellent job of expanding all of the entertainment offerings

396
00:20:54.440 --> 00:21:00.119
at those resorts. But the thing with those ice experience this,

397
00:21:00.200 --> 00:21:02.680
as you know, is that they're giant ice sculptures that

398
00:21:02.720 --> 00:21:04.920
you walk through in their ips, right, So you're going

399
00:21:04.920 --> 00:21:06.640
through like the Polar Express and you see the full

400
00:21:06.720 --> 00:21:08.519
size replica of the Express out of ice.

401
00:21:08.519 --> 00:21:09.839
It's crazy.

402
00:21:09.880 --> 00:21:14.599
All those artists are from China, are from Harbin because

403
00:21:14.680 --> 00:21:19.599
that's where like the world's largest snow world is is.

404
00:21:19.720 --> 00:21:22.279
And it's just it's their thing. It's this enormous thing,

405
00:21:22.279 --> 00:21:23.519
and I've always wanted to go to it because it

406
00:21:23.519 --> 00:21:26.720
looks so great. So it's just opened for this year

407
00:21:26.880 --> 00:21:30.279
and it's five hundred and twenty one meter eye slides,

408
00:21:30.319 --> 00:21:33.680
intricate ice sculptures, and other attractions. The park spans one

409
00:21:33.680 --> 00:21:37.960
point two million square meters and has introduced new performances

410
00:21:37.960 --> 00:21:42.799
and amenities, generating substantial winter revenue. So last year this

411
00:21:43.039 --> 00:21:47.240
park like this, like it's basically a theme park made

412
00:21:47.240 --> 00:21:51.480
device right, and last year it like set records for

413
00:21:51.519 --> 00:21:54.200
being like one of the most visited destinations, and so

414
00:21:54.400 --> 00:21:56.079
it just reopened for this year. It looks like it's

415
00:21:56.079 --> 00:21:59.960
even bigger and crazier, and I'm like, I'm really interest

416
00:22:00.279 --> 00:22:01.880
to see what the numbers are going to be, because

417
00:22:01.920 --> 00:22:06.279
I am betting this is gonna end up rivaling year

418
00:22:06.359 --> 00:22:07.960
round theme parks in terms of attendance.

419
00:22:08.559 --> 00:22:12.839
Well, I mean, first of all, it's huge. Secondly easy, Yeah,

420
00:22:12.880 --> 00:22:15.079
it's it's gigetic, and you see these photos and you

421
00:22:15.160 --> 00:22:18.079
see maps, and you go, that couldn't possibly be. That

422
00:22:18.079 --> 00:22:19.720
couldn't possibly be what I think it is.

423
00:22:19.759 --> 00:22:22.279
But like Native, it's like a city made of ices.

424
00:22:22.680 --> 00:22:25.359
Easy. No, I know, but I think that part of

425
00:22:25.400 --> 00:22:28.200
it is. I think you're right. I think it's part

426
00:22:28.200 --> 00:22:30.119
of the reason that it does so incredibly well. Is

427
00:22:30.279 --> 00:22:35.400
number one, it is unique there, you know, it's it's

428
00:22:35.759 --> 00:22:41.000
unlike anything else of this magnitude. And secondly, it has

429
00:22:41.039 --> 00:22:43.920
a fuse. It has a beginning, it has an end,

430
00:22:44.440 --> 00:22:47.720
and not because it cannot be extended, you know, extended

431
00:22:47.759 --> 00:22:50.799
due to popular demand. Except the weather's changing and our

432
00:22:50.839 --> 00:22:53.720
eye slides are now four hundred and eighty meters, you know,

433
00:22:54.119 --> 00:22:57.720
it's it's not five twenty one anymore. They're now down

434
00:22:57.720 --> 00:22:59.960
to four eighty and half the stairs are gone, so

435
00:23:00.039 --> 00:23:03.880
good luck. So yeah, I think that it is. I'm

436
00:23:03.920 --> 00:23:05.720
with you. I think this looks like something that would

437
00:23:05.720 --> 00:23:10.559
be so much fun and so unique and uh, you

438
00:23:10.599 --> 00:23:14.279
know it's if any of you who are listeners have

439
00:23:14.359 --> 00:23:18.240
actually been to this, uh, please let us know send photos,

440
00:23:18.240 --> 00:23:19.799
because I would love to see what this looks like.

441
00:23:21.160 --> 00:23:24.759
I mean from from a guest perspective. You know, I'm

442
00:23:25.200 --> 00:23:27.799
to the point now where I love seeing promotional material,

443
00:23:27.839 --> 00:23:29.200
but I really want to see it from a guest

444
00:23:29.200 --> 00:23:32.039
perspective to see if it's as cool as it appears

445
00:23:32.039 --> 00:23:32.240
to be.

446
00:23:32.839 --> 00:23:36.559
And it's the only reason going to the ice experiences

447
00:23:36.599 --> 00:23:38.200
at the gayal Or Resorts made me want to see

448
00:23:38.240 --> 00:23:41.240
this more because you know, then when you go and

449
00:23:41.279 --> 00:23:43.319
you walk through those, you're like, oh my gosh, like

450
00:23:43.359 --> 00:23:46.359
this is crazy that these are these sculptures are made

451
00:23:46.400 --> 00:23:49.240
of eyes and you know, and then you just imagine

452
00:23:49.279 --> 00:23:52.240
it being a whole theme park of it, and it's

453
00:23:52.440 --> 00:23:53.839
crazy because you know, I don't know, you don't think

454
00:23:53.839 --> 00:23:55.720
it's going to work, and then you see it in person,

455
00:23:55.839 --> 00:23:57.640
You're like, oh my god, this is this works and

456
00:23:57.680 --> 00:24:00.680
then you uh slide down the giant ice slides, which

457
00:24:00.720 --> 00:24:01.279
I believe.

458
00:24:01.079 --> 00:24:03.920
The poems always has one and it's crazy.

459
00:24:04.559 --> 00:24:09.359
Yeah. The Gaylord. The Gaylord experiences are are sort of

460
00:24:09.440 --> 00:24:12.799
the the to me, it reminds me of sort of

461
00:24:12.799 --> 00:24:15.519
the of the the touring promotional show for the actual

462
00:24:15.599 --> 00:24:17.079
park in China.

463
00:24:17.720 --> 00:24:20.680
Yep, you know it's uh, it's if you're right, that's right.

464
00:24:20.799 --> 00:24:22.720
Yeah, and if you and and I don't mean that

465
00:24:22.759 --> 00:24:26.319
to be a dig on on any of the on

466
00:24:26.440 --> 00:24:28.640
Gaylord's ice at all. I think it's amazing. I go

467
00:24:28.720 --> 00:24:32.839
every year they've and they've continued to add and expand

468
00:24:32.920 --> 00:24:36.240
to it. It really is. It's it's truly breathtaking. So

469
00:24:36.279 --> 00:24:37.960
if you have the if you don't have the opportunity

470
00:24:38.119 --> 00:24:41.000
to go to China, at least go to Gaylord and

471
00:24:41.119 --> 00:24:43.839
see what some of these great artisans can create and

472
00:24:44.079 --> 00:24:46.880
some of the fun in many in most cases I

473
00:24:46.920 --> 00:24:51.119
will say westernized ips that they can can bring to life.

474
00:24:51.400 --> 00:24:54.440
And of course everyone everyone that they do because it's

475
00:24:54.480 --> 00:24:58.640
of course Christmas. Uh, they do and I'm not particularly religious,

476
00:24:58.640 --> 00:25:01.720
but they do an ice major scene. They do an

477
00:25:01.759 --> 00:25:05.039
ice crash that has no color to it. It's just

478
00:25:05.759 --> 00:25:09.839
ice and light and it is it's all inspiring. It's

479
00:25:09.880 --> 00:25:14.880
really beautiful. So so just imagining that times a gazillion

480
00:25:16.680 --> 00:25:18.720
makes the park sound like the one in China sound

481
00:25:18.720 --> 00:25:21.359
like it would be just way too much fun, way

482
00:25:21.400 --> 00:25:23.960
too much fun and something.

483
00:25:24.559 --> 00:25:28.720
The story, which also seems pretty fun, is from Alton

484
00:25:28.839 --> 00:25:31.519
Towers in the UK and they're offering a scent to

485
00:25:31.599 --> 00:25:35.920
sleepover package. And this is so this is a festive

486
00:25:35.960 --> 00:25:39.799
experience for families, featuring activities such as meeting Santa, exploring

487
00:25:39.839 --> 00:25:42.880
the Seabe's land, and enjoying a themed hotel stay in

488
00:25:42.920 --> 00:25:46.079
case of rainy whether the event provides indoor attractions and entertainment.

489
00:25:46.400 --> 00:25:49.480
The Arctic Explorer room and a Christmas dinner bathet are

490
00:25:49.519 --> 00:25:54.000
highlights of the experience. So this isn't like this is

491
00:25:54.039 --> 00:25:56.319
all new things. But what I like about this is

492
00:25:56.359 --> 00:25:59.200
that they are packaging everything into like a whole experience

493
00:25:59.599 --> 00:26:03.119
and so encourage you to do a stay, and it

494
00:26:03.200 --> 00:26:05.759
then allows them to put in, you know, all these

495
00:26:06.000 --> 00:26:08.599
elements together, Like you get the themed room, you get

496
00:26:08.599 --> 00:26:11.480
the buffet, you get the Santa experience, you get to

497
00:26:11.599 --> 00:26:13.640
enjoy the park. I mean, you get this whole thing

498
00:26:13.720 --> 00:26:16.240
that's kind of like wrapped into Christmas package, which I

499
00:26:16.279 --> 00:26:20.640
think is just that it's interesting because you know, we

500
00:26:20.720 --> 00:26:24.039
see this happen with this again, none of this is new,

501
00:26:24.440 --> 00:26:26.119
but I feel like I don't really see it happen

502
00:26:26.200 --> 00:26:29.559
that much for Christmas, and I think that that's what

503
00:26:29.640 --> 00:26:30.559
makes this interesting to me.

504
00:26:31.400 --> 00:26:36.880
I love the fact that it's a a family sleepover experience.

505
00:26:37.400 --> 00:26:40.119
You know, it's so cool. It looks like it would

506
00:26:40.119 --> 00:26:41.880
be just so much fun. Just some of the images

507
00:26:41.880 --> 00:26:46.720
and the descriptions. You're you know, we we bandy about

508
00:26:46.720 --> 00:26:53.759
the idea of immersiveness and the UK has done this

509
00:26:54.079 --> 00:26:56.880
in several other areas as well. You know, there's the

510
00:26:57.000 --> 00:27:01.000
overnight Halloween experiences, there's the so there's a lot of

511
00:27:01.039 --> 00:27:04.279
these sort of more camp grounding things. This is not

512
00:27:04.319 --> 00:27:08.079
camp grounding, but just the idea of it's all all

513
00:27:08.119 --> 00:27:10.799
Santa all the time. You know, you are, you're making

514
00:27:10.839 --> 00:27:14.200
the commitment as a family to go and experience Christmas

515
00:27:15.079 --> 00:27:18.240
at Alton Towers. You're gonna go see Santa, You're gonna

516
00:27:18.279 --> 00:27:21.839
have your Christmas dinner. But fet this is like everything

517
00:27:22.359 --> 00:27:25.599
everything a child would want for Christmas all rolled into

518
00:27:25.599 --> 00:27:26.680
one big experience.

519
00:27:27.200 --> 00:27:27.440
Yep.

520
00:27:27.720 --> 00:27:29.720
And the fact that it's not we have to get

521
00:27:29.759 --> 00:27:31.720
up in the morning and hurry over there and get

522
00:27:31.759 --> 00:27:33.200
ready and wait and line and park the car and

523
00:27:33.240 --> 00:27:35.079
blah blah blah, blah blah. The fact that it's an

524
00:27:35.119 --> 00:27:37.079
overnight's stay kind of goes back to the way the

525
00:27:37.119 --> 00:27:39.240
only way I will enjoy Disney anymore, and that is

526
00:27:39.279 --> 00:27:43.839
to actually stay on property, because again, I don't like

527
00:27:43.960 --> 00:27:46.440
the hassle of getting in, but if you make it

528
00:27:46.480 --> 00:27:49.400
an overnight experience, that hassle all just goes away and

529
00:27:50.000 --> 00:27:52.640
you do your stand asleepover. So yeah, I think this

530
00:27:52.680 --> 00:27:54.559
is really fun. I'm not sure it would I'm not

531
00:27:54.599 --> 00:27:57.720
sure how well it would play in the US. I

532
00:27:57.759 --> 00:28:00.799
was thinking that I don't I don't know that. I

533
00:28:00.839 --> 00:28:03.680
do know that a lot of people, you know, especially

534
00:28:03.680 --> 00:28:06.559
here in Florida, you have to there was a time

535
00:28:06.640 --> 00:28:08.599
and my numbers are old, but there was a time

536
00:28:08.640 --> 00:28:13.440
where if you wanted to book one of the hotels

537
00:28:13.960 --> 00:28:16.440
during the during the holiday season between Christmas and New

538
00:28:16.480 --> 00:28:19.359
Year's you usually had to book it about two years

539
00:28:19.400 --> 00:28:23.039
in advance, and they at one point in time they

540
00:28:23.079 --> 00:28:25.160
actually had a minimum amount stay you had to stay

541
00:28:25.160 --> 00:28:27.720
at least I think it was four days. That's crazy,

542
00:28:28.039 --> 00:28:32.400
So uh, yeah, it was because again, so many families

543
00:28:33.920 --> 00:28:36.839
are are willing to say, let's you know, let's not

544
00:28:37.000 --> 00:28:41.279
have a traditional Christmas. Let's have our Christmas at Disney.

545
00:28:41.680 --> 00:28:46.000
Let's have our Christmas with our families, because again it

546
00:28:46.200 --> 00:28:50.039
is Disney does Christmas well, and quite honestly, in my opinion,

547
00:28:50.119 --> 00:28:54.440
some of the best applications of Christmas on Disney property

548
00:28:54.440 --> 00:28:57.640
happened in the hotels anyway, So I mean here here

549
00:28:57.680 --> 00:29:00.319
in Florida, they even, you know, all of the the

550
00:29:00.359 --> 00:29:05.519
confectionery chefs have a competition to do displays that aren't,

551
00:29:05.920 --> 00:29:08.519
you know, super high end. It's not the gigantic rides

552
00:29:08.559 --> 00:29:12.839
and the attractions, but they're magical and they capture the

553
00:29:13.039 --> 00:29:16.559
essence of Christmas in a in a really amazing way.

554
00:29:16.880 --> 00:29:20.200
So it sounds like Alton Towers is doing their version

555
00:29:20.240 --> 00:29:23.400
of that in a sleepover experience. And we hope that

556
00:29:23.880 --> 00:29:25.839
you know, all of you who are are listening or

557
00:29:25.880 --> 00:29:28.079
watching the show, we hope that you capture your own

558
00:29:28.119 --> 00:29:31.440
holiday experiences this year. And if you are, if you

559
00:29:31.440 --> 00:29:34.519
are celebrating, hanik, I think we're almost that's just about over,

560
00:29:35.079 --> 00:29:37.720
and Christmas is around the corner, and of course New

561
00:29:37.759 --> 00:29:41.400
Year's is coming up closely behind that. So thank you

562
00:29:41.480 --> 00:29:43.240
all so much for spending yet another year with us.

563
00:29:43.400 --> 00:29:46.200
We hope your holiday season continues to be wonderful, and

564
00:29:47.400 --> 00:29:49.759
hopefully you'll find a little bit of your own Christmas

565
00:29:49.799 --> 00:29:51.759
magic in the in the holiday season.

566
00:29:52.559 --> 00:29:55.440
So I'm going to add also at the end that

567
00:29:55.720 --> 00:29:57.680
we are going to get we're getting pretty close to

568
00:29:57.720 --> 00:30:00.440
doing our New Year's episode as well. So or any

569
00:30:00.519 --> 00:30:03.240
topics or questions that you want to ask us, this

570
00:30:03.279 --> 00:30:06.480
is the time. If anything you want to ask that

571
00:30:06.480 --> 00:30:07.920
you want us talk about on the show, this is

572
00:30:07.960 --> 00:30:08.319
the time.

573
00:30:08.640 --> 00:30:09.160
Put it in there.

574
00:30:09.200 --> 00:30:10.559
I should have said this at the beginning of the show,

575
00:30:10.599 --> 00:30:13.559
but we're saying it now. So put in your questions

576
00:30:13.759 --> 00:30:15.920
and also please subscribe.

577
00:30:17.599 --> 00:30:20.759
We couldn't we couldn't have just a heartfelt holiday ending.

578
00:30:20.799 --> 00:30:22.640
We just had to get in the commercial.

579
00:30:22.720 --> 00:30:24.720
Okay, they probably won't listen to this part anyway. They

580
00:30:24.799 --> 00:30:25.720
probably stopped listening.

581
00:30:25.839 --> 00:30:28.039
That's true. I started. It's like, oh, look, Scott's wrapping

582
00:30:28.039 --> 00:30:29.039
it up, he's getting mushy.

583
00:30:29.319 --> 00:30:31.200
I'll yes, and then they just turn off. Yeah, that's

584
00:30:31.200 --> 00:30:31.880
where no one listens.

585
00:30:32.079 --> 00:30:34.279
Well, if you're still listening, If you're still listening, you

586
00:30:34.319 --> 00:30:39.160
deserve this. Merry Christmas, Happy Honkkah, Happy Kwanza, happy Solstice,

587
00:30:39.400 --> 00:30:43.839
happy Winter. Holidays and we will see you next week.
